Statement of Commitment

Statement of Commitment

Commitment is a biblical precept.  We are a covenant people and we serve a covenant God; therefore, we should be a committed people.  A covenant is a binding agreement between two or more parties.  At Family Life Bible Fellowship Church each member is encouraged to commit to the following:  Spiritual Growth, Financial Obligation, Church Attendance and Ministry Involvement.

Spiritual Growth

Spiritual growth results from trusting Jesus Christ.  “The just shall live by faith” (Galatians 3:11).  A life of faith will enable you to trust God increasingly with every detail of your life and to practice the following:

G - Go to God in prayer daily (Matthew 6:9-13)

R - Read God’s Word daily (Acts 17:11)

O - Obey God moment by moment (John 14:21)

W - Witness for Christ by your life and words (John 15:8)

T - Trust God for every detail of your life (1 Peter 5:7)

H - Holy Spirit-allow Him to control and empower your daily life and witness (Acts 1:8)

Financial Obligation

Members are encouraged to give of their tithes and offerings.

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.  (Malachi 3:10)

Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.  (Psalm 96:8)

Church Attendance and Ministry Involvement

Regular church attendance is encouraged.

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.  (Hebrews 10:25)

Involvement in Bible study (Life Enrichment Studies), Enrichment Class, and in at least one other ministry.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  (II Timothy 2:15)  Members are encouraged to seek God’s guidance in utilizing their spiritual gifts in order to walk in their anointing.  Be led by God as to which ministry to work and to become a part of.  (I Corinthians 12)

That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.  (I John 1:3)
